– If there are only a few of you, and no really young ones, the Hat Game Deluxe is a must. Everyone thinks of ten famous people and writes each name on a scrap of paper. Fold the papers, put them into a hat and split into pairs. The youngest starts, pulling a name out of the hat and describing it to their partner in any way they like without saying the name itself. They have one minute to describe as many celebrities as possible before the turn passes to the other team. Repeat until the hat is emptied, count up all the names your team has guessed and note your scores, then fold up the papers again and return them to the hat for round two. This time, the person describing must use only one word per celebrity, so "eyebrows" for Alistair Darling should suffice as you’ll know he’s in the hat from round one. Sounds simple? Just wait until you move on to round three, when you’re only allowed to mime clues, and round four – provide sound effects alone (no words or hand gestures).
– While pen and paper are nearby, compose a limerick about the person on your left, employing as much cheek as you dare. Then turn your attention to the person on your right and create a tongue twister for them. Choose a verb, adverb, adjective and noun all beginning with their initial so that you end up with, say, "Tom tiptoes tipsily towards the toppling toboggan."
– Finally, challenge dexterity with Thumbs Up!. Everyone securely wedges a satsuma on to their right thumb (or left thumb if left-handed). All satsumas are then held up and presented to the person opposite, to peel with their free, weaker hand. Anyone who rips off the peel too quickly causing the satsuma to fall must eat some peel as a forfeit, but anyone who manages to peel it in one piece wins a chocolate coin.
